Tsai Chai Hsio was born in Taiwan and is the chamber music partner of Reiner Hochmuth since many years. She studied at the famous National Taiwan University und got her Bachelor's Degree in philosophy before she went to America to study with Howard Karp, Beveridge Webster and Oxana Yablonskaya. She got her diploma from the Julliard Schooland the Masters Degree from New England Conservatory and returnd to Taiwan. She is teaching at the Soochow University and the National Institute of Art in Taipei and is one of the most active pianists in Taiwan. Beside her recitals in the Carnegie Recital Hall, Mannes Hall, concert tours through Germany she was performing with Berl Senofsky (violin) and Paul Tortelier (Cello). Her three recordings of Chinese Music were internationally recognized and the "Chinese Concertos" was awarded "the best classical recording" of the year 1987 in Taiwan.
